Kemestry Salon is one of the newest additions to Austin's vibrant East Side, by far our favorite area in Austin. Just looking around the East Side gives us inspiration - from the Spanish culture and eclectic homes to the art studios, great little coffee shops and little hole in the walls. At Kemestry, we know we belong here, and draw our visions, designs and innovative hair design concepts from the beauty we see around us. As a client, we know you will love experiencing the vibrance of our salon and its new home as much as we do.

Our name reflects our commitment to beauty and design, both in nature and in our salon: KEME (Latin for "earth") + STRY (Science). At Kemestry, we are blending Science with mother nature to give you design and innovation inspired by nature herself. Our stylists have been professionally trained at some of the country's most cutting edge salons, including the Aveda institute, Vidal Sassoon academe, L'Oréal Professionnel, Toni and Guy, Vivian McKinder, and other industry leaders. With extensive experience and cutting-edge training, our stylists are consistently pushing the limits of design and looking for the newest techniques for mastering the science of hair. Whether you prefer Avant garde, a modern twist on a classic look, or a traditional timeless feel, our stylists are trained to look at your overall needs and preferences and give you a style - not just a look - that works for you.

Because of the natural beauty that surrounds us in Austin, Texas, and because of our personal beliefs and ideals, Kemestry Salon is committed to leaving a minimal foot print on the environment by minimizing the amount of waste our salon produces. We recycle all of the products we use in our salon, including color tubes, caps, refreshment cans, product containers and everything we can possibly reuse. We use a water filtration system instead of plastic bottles, print all of our business cards on post recycled paper, and feature product lines that use minimal plastic for their containers, using more recycle friendly materials such as metal and glass instead.
